Ashley Meyer, the project lead and education adviser, gave us some insight on their goals and where they’re headed the next few years.

“The big thing with this event is that we’re working towards creating and building an artist center in Leduc, so this is kind of our debut. This is our first event where we’re actually coming out to the community and representing ourselves as the Leduc Arts Foundry.”...

“Even if we don’t necessarily have a roof over our heads, we might not for one year, two or three years we can still be doing that work of promoting the arts and making an impact in our community.”

With an attendance of more than 6000 people, this event is off to a great start!

It was a beautiful

day for the first

annual Leduc Arts Foundry Art Walk. The Leduc Arts Foundry is a non-profit organization that focuses on bringing awareness to the community and surrounding areas to build and foster the artistic community.

More than 50 local artists, artisans and painters were invited to display their original artwork and hand made goods at the outdoor gallery. Other events included workshops, demonstrations, buskers and musical performances on the Turner Guitar Studio Stage. Food vendors were also available. The market was spread out in the heart of downtown Leduc, stretching down one block on Leduc's Historical Main street (between 48th St & 49th St).

With more than 6,000 people in attendance they are off to a great start and hope to continue for many years to come.
