Business of the Month:

Hannah Guitars

You might have met or heard of Brent Hannah already. He is the guitar player for our previous Entertainer of the Month, the amazing Shaguar and part of the crew for the Beaumont Blues & Roots Festival. But now you will also know him as the genius behind the products you will find on Hannah Guitars.

The Bugboard is an incredibly durable, light-weighted customizable pedal board made from laser cut Baltic Birch plywood. It comes in 1 or 2 tiers, has a handy storage area in the back of the board for your power supply and cables, with it's price tag starting at only $66.00!

"I have been developing the BugBoard for at least 5 years now, but I didn't actually launch until 2015. This all started when I got tired of carrying my handful of guitar pedals around in a bag and decided to buy a pedalboard. At that point two things happened: For one, I was shocked by the prices being asked for the things, and secondly I didn't like the design. I mean - there isn't a place to to store my "wall wart" power supply? I have to glue velcro the bottom of all my pedals? No thank you.

So, being a Mechanical Designer and wood worker, I set out to create what I wanted. And after about a year, several prototypes, and various materials I finally hit on the BugBoard."

But Bugboards are just the beginning! Brent also created an app for you to get a fully customized guitar strap that launched April 1! (No joke!) It's made with real leather, PADDED, adjustable, with a custom design and overall high quality.

"The straps happened as an accident, when a leatherworker friend of mine gave me a piece of leather to mess around with and to see if I could use my CNC mill to carve designs in leather. After trying every bit in my toolbox I finally found something that did a pretty good job. I tried to find advice from anybody else about CNC carving leather and I found that absolutely nobody else was doing this. At that point I became obsessed with the idea and after much trial and error (mostly error), I slowly developed a process that works."

Brent is always looking to expand and create more useful affordable products.

"I'm always looking for something new. People are bugging me to make bigger BugBoards, so that may happen. I would also like to explore other strap designs too."

So check out the website, build a strap of your own, get a Bugboard! Your money is going to a great product and supporting a local business!
