JASPER, Alberta—Ford’s best-selling SUV
received a mid-cycle update for the 2017 model
year, adding new technologies, two new engines,
an auto start/stop function, and a new look—
inside and out. To many, this is more than a
refresh, in this, the fourth generation of the
Blue Oval’s popular mid-size crossover.

The Escape has enjoyed its status as the
category leader, moving 47,726 units
last year alone, well over 5,000 more
than its closest competitor.
