"Cloud leaders shine when it comes to
transparency and established best practices.
[They] understand workloads, calculate
costs, conduct availability planning, clearly
define roles and maintain transparency."
Revenue Growth
Those at the head of the pack see cloud computing fueling more revenue
growth for their organization. Leaders reported a 51% increase in top-line rev-
enue stemming from cloud initiatives.
What is it, exactly, that’s fueling this revenue growth? In focus groups, the bot-
tom tier participants struggled to articulate their growth metrics. When
pressed on how they measure the impact of cloud on the business, they had no
clear answer (although they knew it was a large revenue driver).
The top tier, by contrast, had a stronger sense, focusing largely on spend and
deployment speed:
"A lot of it is measured by customer satisfaction —
i.e. how fast are we delivering feature enhancements."
— IT Operations Manager at a technology company
"We look at cost, as well as latency. I’m in an industry where
seconds and milliseconds count, so we care about timing,
speed to market, and customer delivery."
— Risk Management Manager in the finance industry
"Sales needs access to information wherever they are.
Our sales force attests that [cloud] helps them meet their goals."
— Credit Manager in the manufacturing industry
