Global Variance
The survey was global in scope and, in general, trends tended to mirror each
other across different regions. Respondents in Asia Pacific, Europe, and North
America all struggle with more or less the same challenges, and have the same
successes, with some exceptions:
• Cloud leaders in Asia Pacific, in general, are more confident in their cloud
capabilities, if only by a small percentage. For instance:
• 9
6% said they are “somewhat” or “extremely” efficient at rolling
out new cloud deployments, compared with 94% in North Amer-
ica and EMEA.
• 9
8% develop new cloud-based applications/services “somewhat”
or “extremely” quickly, compared with 90% in North America and
94% in EMEA.
• Among the cloud leaders, the top three biggest concerns were, in order
of highest to lowest level of concern:
• Reliability, complexity and support, and security and privacy in
Asia Pacific.
• Security and privacy, governance and compliance, and integration
with existing tools in EMEA.
• Security and privacy, reliability, and complexity and support in
North America.
• L
aggards in EMEA had by far the most dismal outlook on the predictabil-
ity of infrastructure expenses: 34% said they were “somewhat” or “com-
pletely” unpredictable, compared with 24% in North America and 19% in
APAC.
