It is amazing to be part of the transition and see it happening in real time. New buildings, businesses and most important people with a vision that have helped make Tampa rank as one of the top most livable places and the top 10 places for young entrepreneurs. Tampa is New Beginnings! In our upcoming summer issue, we will be all about LIVE-WORK-PLAY and showcasing what makes Tampa great. In this issue, we focused on a few of the people that are creating new beginnings. It has been said “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery definition. To imitate someone is to pay the person a genuine compliment — often an unintended compliment.” We would like to congratulate Tampa Downtown for new beginnings. Our focus since the beginning in 2016 was to serve the urban dwellers of Tampa. Since our first issue, we have always been dedicated to LIVE-WORK-PLAY and the people and places that make urban Tampa shine. As we expand this year into new areas with our own new beginnings; this magazine will always remain serving Downtown Tampa and surrounding urban areas as it has since day one. Check out the new collaboration on page 8 that will be bringing a craft brewery to the Channel District, on page 10 read how a business was created out of passion and adversity and turn to page 14 if you want to meet the doctor that is a game changer in tattoo removal and possess the same skills to create new ones. On page 30 see how Dr. Deepak Naidu explains why women and men want different things; especially when it comes to plastic surgery. It was my pleasure to be invited to 72nd Miss Tampa Pageant and The District Magazine was honored to be a sponsor. Meet the new Miss Tampa and the runner-ups on page 20. I also had the pleasure to meet a rising star or as we explained on page 26, the making of a mogul. DJ Josh Acoff is on a mission to fulfill his dreams and he chose Tampa to make that happen. I would like to thank Lindsey Meyer for two years of dedication, creativity and professionalism as the magazine’s photographer. We wish her the best as she dedicates her time as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst helping children full-time. We welcome our new photographer Jai Jacob. As always, I hope you enjoy this issue.
