propelled me forward.” The Miss Tampa Scholarship Pageant started in 1946, and has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars in educational scholarships during the past 72 years. Contestants are judged on their communication skills, talent, physical fitness, confidence, and grace under pressure. Miss Tampa contestants are young women who are talented, confident, empowered, and role models for young women. This year educational scholarships and donations totaling $12,250 were given away to the women with the highest scores: COMMUNICATION SKILLS • TAYLOR LOKEY: MISS TAMPA 2018 - $5,000 SCHOLARSHIP • MEGAN PRICE: FIRST RUNNER-UP - $2,500 SCHOLARSHIP • HALEY RILEY: SECOND RUNNER-UP - $1,500 SCHOLARSHIP • JERCOIYA WAITERS: THIRD RUNNER-UP - $1,000 SCHOLARSHIP • AMBER BOYKIN: FOURTH RUNNER-UP - $500 • MADELINE MAY; THE SPIRIT OF MISS TAMPA AWARD - $250 PHYSICAL FITNESS • DONATION TO CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK - $1,500 The Miss Tampa Scholarship Foundation recognizes and congratulates local business executive Bob Clark for his 25 years of service as executive director. Bob Clark, Executive Director of Miss Tampa said, “Last night was fantastic and we are honored that Taylor Lokey, Miss Tampa 2018 will be representing Tampa this summer at the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant.” The Miss Tampa Scholarship Foundation is an official local franchise of the Miss America Organization. The Miss America Organization is one of the nation’s leading achievement programs and the world’s largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. The Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations and have made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. “Wow, what a show last night!
