Join Tampa Tails
Tampa Tails is a networking group
for young professionals (age 25-
45) who fundraise for the homeless
animals at the Society’s shelter
through hosted events. Members
enjoy access to six Yappy Hours
a year, held at Tampa’s trendiest
venues, as well as volunteer days at
the shelter complete with mimosas
In 2016, the Humane Society of
Tampa Bay
• Saved 8,104 animals, achieving a
96% save rate
• Spayed or neutered 13,203 owned
pets
• Cared for 33,873 owned pets at
their veterinary hospital
• Trapped/neutered/vaccinated/
returned 5,310 feral and community
cats
• Gave away 1,368 pet vaccinations
in disadvantaged neighborhoods
• Gave away 144,580 pounds of
pet food to struggling families and
homebound citizens
• Utilized 72,000 volunteer hours,
the equivalent of 35 full-time staff
positions

through Points of Light. Though
HSTB employs 100+ staff, they rely
on volunteers to carry this extra
workload equivalent to 35 full-
time positions. A variety of roles
for all interests and skillsets are
