You fill one end with a small amount of cannabis and puff on the other end while holding a fire to the medicine. Remember to hit on it gently or you will pull the ash thru the tube into your mouth. Not very much fun if the ash is still glowing red from combustion. Nowadays there is a similar product made from glass that allows you to put a larger load of cannabis into the end to accommodate multiple tokes or hits. This flared glass tube will hold about the same amount of bud as a regular pipe, and tastes much cleaner. Glass pipes I recently learned are called “spoons”. If you are feeling nostalgic and looking for an old ceramic bong like you smoked from in the 80’s, you can forget it. No one seems to make those any longer.
