Mother, May I?
Our reality has seen better
days.
What’s good for some
isn’t good for all. I get
that. But you can’t deny
these sharp contrasts and
divisions in our country.
It’s times like these I lean
heavily upon the great
unifiers: art, entertainment,
food, sports, travel.
Regardless of status,
political affiliation, race,
creed, gender, the unifiers
bring us together, help us
relate to one another.
And, wouldn’t you know,
that’s exactly what we’re
here to talk about in The
Current Buzz.
Case in point: it didn’t
matter if you were a die-
hard OU, OSU or TU fan,
when Russell Westbrook
matched, tied, then
broke Oscar Robertson’s
record for most triple-
doubles in a single season,
you at least noticed (or
hung on to every stat
line from start-to-finish as
Westbrook raised the bar
of greatness).
If nothing else, these
everyday things bring us
together, from the dinner
table to the dance floor
and raw nature to the
open road.
And then there’s mom.
