EXTRA BUZZ Steel Horse Rally roars into Fort Smith May 5-6
FORT SMITH , Ark . - The 3 rd Annual Steel Horse Rally is “ taking it to the streets ,” roaring into downtown Fort Smith May 5-6 , 2017 .
The charity motorcycle rally is open to all riders and is dedicated to military , veterans , law enforcement and first responders . Once again this event raises

money for local charities that are geared toward helping veterans and children .
The Heroes Salute , a ceremony at the Fort Smith National Cemetery , is now an official part of the Steel Horse Rally . Immediately following the ceremony , there will be a special motorcycle ride to Garrison Avenue .
“ We wanted to honor all who serve ,” said Steel Horse Rally Inc . President Dennis Snow . “ I think this event will mean a lot to all fellow veterans .”
Motorcycle riders will once again be able to park on the center line of Garrison Ave ., one of the widest main streets in America , starting at 6:30 p . m . on Friday and 11 a . m . on Saturday . A large portion of this main street between 5 th & 10 th streets will be open exclusively to motorcycle traffic .
This year on Saturday , May 6 , experience the all new Steel Horse Alley on 9 th Street . To attend the concerts and events at the Steel Horse Alley and have full access to the Steel Horse Rally Handle Bar , a minimum charitable donation of $ 5 per person ( age 21 and up ) is suggested . Special VIB ( Very Important Biker ) packages will also be available soon .
Saturday will also feature live performances by Scattered Hamlet and Bobaflex , known for their hit “ Bury Me With My Guns On .” Bobaflex is touring in support of a soon to be released cover of Pink Floyd ’ s “ Hey You .”
The Steel Horse Rally Thunder though the Valley Motorcycle Parade stages at 3 p . m . Saturday at Fort Smith Park and goes kickstands up at 4 p . m . The parade route takes riders right past the Steel Horse Alley Stage and underneath a huge American flag in downtown Fort Smith ending on Garrison Avenue , where bikers can park motorcycles in the middle of the street .
The 3 rd Annual Miss Steel Horse Rally Bikini Contest is scheduled for 8 p . m . Saturday on the Steel Horse Alley Stage . Other rally events include poker runs , a birds of prey show , Vendor Village , and the Steel Horse Rally Bike Show .
