Championship Annual
T
he 2017 golf season is officially here! Saturday, April 1st
marked the beginning of the active handicap season in
Connecticut. All rounds played in Connecticut (as of April
1st) are now eligible to be posted for handicap purposes.
Anyone with an official CSGA handicap has access to a wide
variety of tools and resources designed to help you post your
scores easily and manage your handicap. You can post your scores
using one of the following ways:
- Navigate to CSGAlinks.org and use the “Post Your Score” button
on the right side of the page.
- Download the GHIN Mobile App, now available on the iPhone,
iPad and Android. The GHIN Mobile App allows you to post scores
and view your handicap index right from your mobile phone.
- Using the CSGA Handicap Computers available at all CSGA
member clubs

competitive season.
State Team Championship Takes Final Bow
A
fter a distinguished run, the State Team Championships are being
retired after this year’s Women’s State Team at The Club at Las
Campanas in Santa Fe, N.M., set for Sept. 26-28. Each event will have
been contested 12 times.

Last fall, Team Connecticut held the lead heading into the final round
of the Men’s State Team Championship, eventually finishing in a tie for fifth
place. During its tenure, the State Team Championships saw all 50 states, the
District of Columbia and Puerto Rico send teams to the competition, which
used a 3-count-2 format to determine the team’s score for each round of the 54-hole event.

The retirement of the State Team Championships, coupled with the addition of the inaugural U.S.
Senior Women’s Open Championship, to be held on July 12-15 at Chicago Golf Club, in Wheaton, Ill.,
transforms the USGA championship model starting in 2018.
