NEWS & NOTES CSGA Announces 2017 USGA P.J. Boatwright Internship Recipients Jason Troll of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Sarah Bagley of Concord, Massachusetts, and Chad Miller of Colchester, Connecticut will join the CSGA staff in 2017 as USGA P.J. Boatwright Interns. Troll will be employed for six months from mid-March through mid-September, while Bagley and Miller will work three months from mid-May through mid-August. According to CSGA Executive Director, Mike Moraghan, “We have done very well over the years in training our Boatwright interns and in preparing them for careers in golf administration, or any profession that requires problem solving, a strong work ethic, and a diverse skill set. Given our track record and our expanded tournament schedule, particularly in the area of women’s golf, the USGA has provided us with additional funding. Thanks to the USGA, we will have three Boatwright interns this year, the most we’ve ever had in one season.” Speaking about this year’s group, Moraghan said, “Jason, Sarah, and Chad each bring the type of enthusiasm we look for in candidates. These internships are highly sought after and all three demonstrated the type of communication ability and confidence that we look for in applicants. We expect they will each hit the ground running when they arrive, and be a very good addition to our team.” Troll is a 2016 Johnson & Wales University graduate who majored in Sports Entertainment and Event Management with a concentration in Event Venue Operations. He has spent time working at several clubs throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island gaining valuable experience in the golf industry. 10 | CSGA Links // April, 2017 www.csgalinks.org
