Beating the Heat
Brian Ahern of West Hartford, Conn. fired a blistering eight under-par 64 on
his home course of Wampanoag Country Club to claim medalist honors at the
35th U.S. Mid-Amateur Qualifier. Both Ahern and Rodean Minto of New Haven,
Conn. will head to John’s Island Club in Vero Beach, Florida on October 3rd8th in hopes of becoming the first Connecticut player since Jerry Courville, Jr.
(1995) to capture the title.
