Strong Field Highlights 2014 Travelers Championship
In just a few short weeks, the PGA Tour’s top players
will return to TPC River Highlands for the 2014 Travelers
Championship on June 16th - 22nd. Below are just a
few of the highlights from this years field:
Bubba Watson is one of the Travelers Championship’s most
successful players and has been in tremendous form thus far
in 2014. Earlier this season, Watson became the first player
to win his second Masters victory in six attempts since Arnold
Palmer in 1960. Since winning the Travelers Championship
in 2010, Watson’s career has soared, earning six victories,
including two victories at the Masters Tournament. Watson
excels at TPC River Highlands; along with his 2010 victory,
he finished fourth in 2013 and tied for second in 2012.
Dustin Johnson is in top form this season, currently
ranked third in the FedExCup and ninth in the Official World
Golf Rankings. Since turning professional in 2007, Johnson
has been one of the best players on TOUR, amassing eight
career wins, five second-place finishes, 41 top-10 finishes,
and more than $23 million in career earnings.
Matt Kuchar will make his eighth appearance at TPC River
Highlands, having started out 2014 in impressive fashion.
After losing in a playoff at the Shell Houston Open and finishing
fifth at the Masters Tournament, Kuchar broke through with
a win at the RBS Heritage at Hilton Head Island, SC. He is
currently 4th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 3rd in
the race for the Fed-Ex Cup.
Zach Johnson has become a fixture at the Travelers
Championship and is a crowd favorite. Currently ranked
No. 10 in the FedExCup Rankings and No. 12 in the OWGR,
Johnson has four top-10 finishes this season including a
victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. The 2007
Masters Champion is one of the game’s most consistent
players – he’s earned at least one TOUR victory seven of
the last eight years – and has 11 career victories, 56 top10 finishes, and has earned more than $32 million in career
earnings. Johnson will be making his ninth appearance at
TPC River Highlands in the last 11 years.
