In these short videos, I will demonstrate the basic pitch and show you the adjustments to make
when you need to hit the Flop Shot. Even when you feel comfortable with the shot, I suggest
that on the course you go through the steps that I take you through in the video.
Where on the club face the ball is struck will have a huge impact on how much backspin you will
have on the shot. The higher up the face the ball leaves the club, the less spin and the higher
trajectory. If you want a low higher spinning shot, laying the club open as discussed in the flop
shot is not the way to go. This will only get the ball to leave the higher part of the face and
reduce spin. Rather, set the club square, feel little to no wrist hinge in the backswing and have
the club travel on a very shallow to flat trajectory through the ball.
