Carlson First, Connecticut Second at New England Junior For the second straight year, Brian Carlson of Clinton Country Club won the individual medal honors at the New England Junior Championship. Carlson, the highest ranked junior in the ?eld, shot rounds of 72-69-68 for a total of 4-under par 209 to capture the individual title by a two-stroke margin over Reese McFarlane of Maine. A rising senior at Hand H.S., Carlson will enter Purdue University in the fall of 2014 as a scholarship golfer on their Division I team. Massachusetts captured the team competition with Connecticut ?nishing second. The New England Junior brings together teams of the top seven players from each of the six New England states for a 54-hole competition. Connecticut hosted the championship this year on August 15th-17th at Connecticut National Golf Club in Putnam, Conn.
