The course, which opened for play in 2000, had previously hosted a U.S. Amateur Quali?er and U.S. Public Links Quali?er, and the course proved to be a stern test for the state’s top amateur players. At week’s end, only six players ?nished the tournament under par, with Philip Perry shooting the low round of the tournament with a six under-par 66. The downhill par-3 tenth hole proved to be the most dif?cult for the players, averaging nearly a full stroke over par for the tournament. The 2014 Mid-Amateur will return to Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, Connecticut. The championship is open to any amateur golfer in Connecticut who will have reached their 25th birthday by August 20th, 2013, and who has a USGA Handicap Index not exceeding 6.4 Connecticut State Golf Association 19
