world ? Having spent a couple of days there , I can easily understand it – I had a hard time leaving as well ! It ’ s not only the low cost of living . It ’ s not only the skiing and snowboarding in the winter , or the other outdoor activities like mountain biking and horse riding in the summer . There ’ s just a certain charm to the area . Bansko is actually a historic town and the whole region is full of culture and old traditions . The locals , although a bit hard to read at first , have been nothing but friendly and helpful to me and even though many seem to be a bit shy speaking English at first , most of them speak it well enough to have a friendly chat . Another big plus for me as a young woman travelling alone : I walked around Bansko in the dark and I never felt unsafe in the slightest way . If you ’ re staying longer in the area , it ’ s not only Bansko and the surrounding towns you can visit ; also Sofia , Plovdiv and Greece can be easily visited for a day or weekend trip . So , yes , I was sold on Bansko . But what was it about Coworking Bansko that made it stand out for me ? All coworking spaces claim it ’ s about the community , but here you can clearly feel it ’ s true . Before I even arrived , I was invited to the Facebook events taking place during my stay . I was introduced via email to another girl whom I was just missing out on , but who Irina thought I should definitely connect with , because we had several things in common . When I felt a bit down one day , Uwe did everything in his power to convince me to join for sushi and it actually did turn the evening around for me . They just care – they genuinely care .
