t there I was : mid January , in a snow-covered old own , because I kept reading about ‘ Coworking ansko ’. The interesting thing was that by then , the pace wasn ’ t even officially open for a full month yet ! ey do that ? How did they manage to spread their before they opened ? As far as I could tell , it was all a Facebook group that made people super excited to o .
founders , Uwe , shares a story that shows just how was spreading . ‘ Before we opened , we went to a space in Sofia and started chatting with one of the She explained that she was a developer and we said , ed a developer ! Don ’ t you want to come to Bansko ?” swered “ There is a coworking space in Bansko .” She about our space ! It was like a fairytale , because we started and people already knew about us , so that confidence to really go for it .’
m a social media marketing background , I wanted w the team about how important social media is to them and not only that , but also getting some tips and tricks about social media for coworkers and coworking spaces . They clearly did so well making a name for themselves online ; they must have had some kind of master plan about this coworking space , Facebook and the town ’ s general PR .
After a one-hour interview with founders Uwe and Matthias and overall super hero Irina and spending several days with them , I ’ m convinced I know what their secret it . It has nothing to do with a master plan , but everything with their enthusiastic and genuine personalities .
‘ We are location independent , but we wanted to have a home base somewhere ,’ Matthias explains , ‘ and we fell in love with Bansko . It ’ s a cool place and we wanted cool people around . So we thought , “ let ’ s make it a coworking space !”’ And that ’ s what they did . Uwe continues : ‘ The other day we were having dinner all together and I thought to myself “ I have so many friends here !” and that ’ s really what it is . They are paying customers , but many of them also became true friends .’
