A Crumbling Pillar of the Community
Despite budget cuts that have negatively impacted the hours and offerings of the library,
it continues to offer several children’s reading
programs throughout the year. In the past it
has also offered programs for adults, including
author talks, genealogy and community workshops, tax preparation assistance, book discussions and more.
Over the past several years, the library has reduced its staff by 34 percent, cancelled all leased
equipment and reduced its fund balance by 33
