THE COUNTY | 2018
SO MUCH TO DO, IT IS HARD TO DECIDE.
A list of some of the things to see and do if you only have
a couple days to spend in The County.
Starting your first day in the southern part of the region, travel north on
US Route 1, heading up through Central Aroostook and through the
St. John Valley to Fort Kent, where Route 1 begins or ends depending
on how you look at it. For those with an eye for astronomy, make sure
to stop and visit each of the planets in the solar system between Houlton
and Presque Isle.
Day two, head back south along Route 11 past myriad lakes and tributaries
and through lumber towns such as Ashland and Patten, and be rewarded
with panoramic views of Mt. Katahdin.
