did literally nothing and just enjoyed life and the fact that I was done with school. During that period I was contacted by the owner of my 3rd Year internship company PROPERTY OF... an Amsterdam-based bag brand. He was looking for a full-time employee, who was going to help him in the office and growing the wholesale again. Now my official title is Marketing & Sales, although I’m more of an all-rounder. Next to the wholesale, I maintain the online store, keep the interns occupied, take pictures and design all media we use (online & print). To work for a small brand and to be the right hand of the owner allows me to be part in every process of the company and to have a lot of responsibilities. Why did you decide to study in Breda? When I moved to the Netherlands 7 years ago, my uncle (who was working for the Ministry of Education) suggested the IBM (International Business and Management) studies at Avans Breda for me. After half a year, I realized that this studies was not meant for me and stopped studying. It was only theory and I needed more creativity. Hence I did some research and found the IMEM studies. garden is just amazing in the summer. My favorite restaurant is the ‘Eetcafe Walkabout’ which is an Australian Restaurant / Bar with amazing Australian meat pies. Further, I loved spending time in the Valkenberg park in the summer with friends. Last but not least, Breda has ‘Bunker Tattoo’ one of the best tattoo parlors in the Netherlands. What do you miss most about living in Breda? Although Breda is a city, it always gives me the feeling that I am in a small village. It’s very cozy, friendly and is one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands. Diana Atanassova - IMEM Alumni Please tell us a little bit about yourself I’m 23 years old and from Bulgaria. I recently graduated from the IMEM program at NHTV and I currently work as a marketing assistant for a new cosmetics company in Dubai. This is the same company I did a Social Media internship for in the last year of my studies. “It’s very cozy, friendly and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the Netherlands.” Did you like living in Breda - what are some of your favorite places in the city? Actually, I only lived in Breda for 6 months and went back and forth between Tilburg the remaining years. Nevertheless, I spent a lot of time in Breda. My favorite places in Breda: for going out we went to Walkabout most of the time, because of all the school parties there. Otherwise, my favorite bar in the city is ‘Speeltuin’. Especially when there was a hip- hop night. It’s a cozy bar and the backside Why did you decide to study in Breda? About 5 years ago, when I was in the last year of high school, I knew I wanted to study abroad. Not just in the search for a good education, but also because I wanted to get this international experience. I figured thatbeing away from my comfort zone would make me more independent and let me get to know myself better. I started researching different options for countries and universities. The city was not that important to me at that time, so when I narrowed down my choice to The Netherlands, I started checking th e charts with the best universities and I 8
