did literally nothing and just enjoyed life and
the fact that I was done with school. During
that period I was contacted by the owner of
my 3rd Year internship company PROPERTY
OF... an Amsterdam-based bag brand. He was
looking for a full-time employee, who was
going to help him in the office and growing
the wholesale again.
Now my official title is Marketing & Sales,
although I’m more of an all-rounder. Next
to the wholesale, I maintain the online store,
keep the interns occupied, take pictures and
design all media we use (online & print).
To work for a small brand and to be the right
hand of the owner allows me to be part in
every process of the company and to have a
lot of responsibilities.
Why did you decide to study in Breda?
When I moved to the Netherlands
7 years ago, my uncle (who was
working for the Ministry
of Education) suggested
the IBM (International
Business
and
Management)
studies
at Avans Breda for me.
After half a year, I realized
that this studies was
not meant for me and
stopped studying. It was
only theory and I needed
more creativity. Hence I did
some research and found the
IMEM studies.
garden is just amazing in the summer.
My favorite restaurant is the ‘Eetcafe
Walkabout’ which is an Australian Restaurant
/ Bar with amazing Australian meat pies.
Further, I loved spending time in the Valkenberg
park in the summer with friends. Last but not
least, Breda has ‘Bunker Tattoo’ one of the best
tattoo parlors in the Netherlands.
What do you miss most about living in
Breda?
Although Breda is a city, it always gives me
the feeling that I am in a small village. It’s very
cozy, friendly and is one of the most beautiful
cities in the Netherlands.

last year of my studies.

Did you like living in Breda - what
are some of your favorite places in the
city?
Actually, I only lived in Breda for 6 months
and went back and forth between Tilburg
the remaining years. Nevertheless, I spent
a lot of time in Breda. My favorite places in
Breda: for going out we went to Walkabout
most of the time, because of all the school
parties there.
Otherwise, my favorite bar in the city is
‘Speeltuin’. Especially when there was a hip-
hop night. It’s a cozy bar and the backside
Why did you decide to study in
Breda?
About 5 years ago, when I was in the
last year of high school, I knew I wanted to
study abroad. Not just in the search for a
good education, but also because I wanted
to get this international experience. I figured
thatbeing away from my comfort zone
would make me more independent and
let me get to know myself better. I started
researching different options for countries
and universities.
The city was not that important to me at
that time, so when I narrowed down my
choice to The Netherlands, I started checking
th e charts with the best universities and I
