The Contour of Luxury Summer 2019 - Page 552

In addition to the luxu the 7 Series integrates premium leather options and impressive stitch work. Under the hood, there is added sound-diminishing material, offering a virtually silent driving experience. The series also includes new power-window motors that are said to function smoother. With its lustrous chrome detailing throughout, there is much to be impressed with regarding the aesthetic aspect of the new 7 Series. For the tech components, the 7 Series includes iDrive infotainment system, displayed on a large screen positioned above the dashboard, and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which enables the driver to access various functions and information about the car and its surroundings just by speaking aloud. All models possess active steering, adaptive suspension, and Extended Traffic Jam Assistant, allowing for hands- free driving up to 37 mph. Standard features also include wireless charging, soft-close doors, panoramic glass roof, Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, and parking sensors, to name a few. As expected, all models of BMW’s latest update to their flagship sedan have an exceptionally upscale, luxurious design and impres- sive tech. Though the redesign has raised a bit of controversy, causing some fans to be confused by the revamped style, while others are disappointed—particularly regarding the enlarged grille—BMW nevertheless amped up the opulent aesthetic of the series with extensive chrome details and sleek finishes. Whether those design elements—in addition to the new tech—appeal to buyers, or not, will be determined when the models become available for purchase.
