Established in Venice, Italy, in 1932, the
film festival is part of the Venice Biennale,
which was founded by the Venetian City
Council in 1895. The aim of the Festival is
to raise awareness and promote international
cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment
and as an industry, in a spirit of freedom
and dialogue.
Emmy Awards recognize excellence in the
American television industry, and is the
equivalent of an Academy Award (for film).
Because Emmys are given in various sectors
of the American television industry, they are
presented in different annual ceremonies
held throughout the year. Primetime Emmy
Awards are considered to be the most popu-
lar ceremony in the Emmys calendar.
