Traditional orchestra and concert settings are often what those with a musical talent like yours tend to perform in . What was the impetus behind your choice of performing in unconventional spaces , such as private superyachts , to showcase your talents ?
I discovered early on that a career in classical music , particularly in an orchestra , might not be a good fit . I like to laugh a lot , and I also have a very expressive face ; there is a certain decorum that one is expected to have in order to play in an orchestra – I didn ' t really feel it was a sustainable choice for me . I love the music , and I loved the community of playing in a large ensemble , but I really wanted to be able to express myself more , and feel more of a direct connection to my audiences . I liked the idea of performing for private events where the music was just a part of the atmosphere , and I could use my music to connect with people in an unobtrusive way . Superyacht and other luxury events just seemed like a natural fit for the type of entertainment I create , and I thought , why not ?
