Four Stretches To Thaw Winter Stiffness

By: Toni Vaillancourt

The Side Stretch: To start off this incredibly easy stretch, sit down with your legs crossed. Next, place one hand on the ground and bend slightly into the arm resting on the floor. Reach your other arm over your head. To properly feel the stretch, keep both of your sitting bones on the floor.

The Hamstring Stretch: If you are looking to improve your flexibility over the long winter months, this is the stretch for you. Stand tall with your feet hip-length apart and your knees bent, arms resting at your side. Exhale slowly as you bend forward at the hips, lowering your head toward floor. Wrap your hands around backs of your legs and hold.

Knee To Chest Stretch: Lie on your back and pull one knee to your chest. Hold this position.
