What is the simplest item to create in
terms of time and what has been one of
your more time consuming items?
Funny, one item sort of has both of those titles.
We make a product called rubber glass. It’s a
clear rubber product that simulates different
types of clear, broken glass. It’s used where ever
you need a scene that involves broken glass and
close contact with actors. it’s flexible rubber, so
it’s very safe. The majority of the rubber glass we
sell is in 1 pound increments of jagged shards
which are reasonably quick to pour up, cure and
then cut into jagged dangerous looking shards,
however recently we had one customer order 250
pounds of rubber glass and they wanted it to
resemble broken safety glass. So that has to be
cut into 1/4” inch squares. It took our whole
team many, many days of endless cutting to fill
the big plastic buckets full of the tiny little bits.
We’ve done countless projects that have taken a
lot of time because of the complexity and detail,
but cutting those millions of tiny little rubber
squares quickly comes to mind.
