In this ever changing digital world, how does Bayonics find their audience in the mix of so much choice? You've performed with a variety of groups, what was one of your most memorable performances and why? We see technology and the choice it gives people as a good thing for the industry and us. We're starting to take more advantage it. We feel freer to put stuff out, let people discover it, and not worry that our genre's can be all over the board. The freedom to release music on our terms inspires us to get back in the studio and record on a consistent basis. One of our most memorable concerts was playing with Common, Ozomatli, Black Keys, Les Claypool. Having the opportunity to open for these legendary artist and who have put their stamp on the industry and paved the way for younger artists was an honor and a great learning experience. Also getting the opportunity to share the stage with Woo Tang was amazing because we feel that we have a similar infrastructure with so many members that bring different things to the table. Some groups kind of epitomize a lifestyle by the music they do or the way they dress, what if any, is the "Bayonics' Lifestyle"? Where does Bayonics want to be in the next five years? We pride ourselves on being a party band. The experience at one of our live concerts is to make sure that everyone's dancing, having a blast and letting go of any insecurities and to be free with our movement. Style-wise I would say we identify ourselves with the modern chic look. In five years it would be nice to have our music to recognized internationally and continue to play shows all across the world bringing people together, making people smile, laugh and dance. 35 THE CONE - ISSUE #8 - WINTER 2016
