Persimmon Moon
The persimmon is close but not yet ready to burst . Poppa taught me persimmons & patience . Rather , he taught me patience with persimmons . Once
he had me taste one that we opened too soon . The pucker inside was a horrible shock . Especially compared to the anticipated sweetness .
This one is almost ready . I like to open them with my thumbs slide the flesh into my mouth . An explosion of supple succulence
They are best shared . I would love to use my fingers , slide this soft sweet flesh into your mouth . If you are here . If we are together at the ripeness .
Poppa , patience , & persimmons taught me : it ' s best to force nothing . Best to let it all ripen in its own time , show up ready at your door .
