Career highlights
One of the highlights of my career to date was advising EnQuest on its new offshore business in Malaysia . Working very closely with the client project and finance teams on the ground in Kuala Lumpur and negotiating contracts with PETRONAS allowed me to gain a solid commercial understanding of the industry I operate in . Client secondments have also taught me the value of succinct and practical legal advice .

Advice to future lawyers
Read Richard Susskind ' s book – " Tomorrow ' s Lawyers " ( now on its second edition ). The legal market is changing rapidly , and this is essential reading for anyone entering the profession . Richard predicts a world of online courts , AI-based global legal business , liberalised markets , commoditisation and outsourcing , internet-based simulated practice , and new legal jobs .
