Should I stay or should I go Someone mentioned to me once that a law degree is like a passport to everywhere and I have seen enough examples to opine that that is true. A law degree especially held by a legal practitioner carries with it certain level of respect and sometimes one that is looked upon with intimidation. Deservedly so because standing on your feet representing a person’s right which affect a person’s affairs and liberty while upholding the law is not an easy task. That said we live in a generation where whatever it is that you do well and right is given the same level of respect, and dare I say sometimes more, be it whether you are a talented chef, singer or a social worker. The mindset of people in this era has evolved and we are able to recognize good and hard work that does not necessarily need to come from being in a legal profession. The legal field is always a natural course to take if you had studied law but do not let that stop you from going after where your interest lies (albeit after doing some research about it as I have advised). Whatever you do, do it with passion. Good Luck!
