The student chapter of the American Geriatrics Society hosted their annual Murder Mystery Dinner, "Murder at Hold-It City General," in November. The club members took on various entertaining personas and roamed the audience attempting to persuade them of their innocence. The story was narrated by the detective, Matthew Mashayekhi, OMS-II who facilitated solving the victim’s murder, portrayed by Mark Schuenke, PhD. The ensemble cast included an array of unseemly characters: the Medical Doctor, Porter, Dental Surgeon, Receptionist, Manager, Senior Surgeon, Psychiatrist, Nursing Sister, Janitor, Chef, Nurse, and the Anesthetist. The actors gave the audience clues through various scripted monologues along with pre-recorded videos to play-out hypothetical situations involving what might have taken place. Participants put on their detective hats (not literally) to guess the identity of the assailant, and a prize was awarded to whomever deciphered the mystery.

In addition to enjoying snacks and beverages, a number of raffle items were also on display from local businesses including Run of the Mill, Biscuits and Company, Orangetheory Fitness, and Elements: Books Coffee Beer. Proceeds from the event supported Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

The incredible cast included: Matthew Mashayekhi, Mark Bernardo, Liza Simmons, Nicole Jenkins, Vishaaq Mathew, Gigi Green, Mark Kassab, Caoxin Tang, Adam Uslan, Jesse Peery, Amy Courtney, Bryar Hansen, Fides Elamparo, and John Kalliel.
