Jenifer Van Deusen Awarded John Lunt Friend of Technology Award
The Association of Computer Technology Educators of Maine honored Jenifer Van Deusen, Interprofessional Education Faculty, with the 2018 John Lunt Friend of Technology Award. This award recognizes significant contributions within the field of educational technology throughout the state. From 1993 to 2005, Jen was “Head Gardener” for SEED, a statewide network that cultivated the great ideas of Maine teachers. The last six years of SEED focused on teachers teaching other teachers to use technology in their classrooms in order to transform learning, supported by a $7 million federal grant. In 2000, Apple, Inc. contracted with SEED to provide professional development for the landmark Maine Learning Technology Initiative, training Technology Learning leaders to teach others to use their new laptops in innovative ways. Previous winners of the award are John Lunt, former Governor Angus King, and Bob Sprankle.
