CAMPUS NEWS HERE’S A LOOK AT SOME OF THE CHANGES AND PROGRAMS WE’VE IMPLEMENTED RECENTLY: 1. A REMODEL OF THE LIBRARY facility, allowing easi- er access to the books and more individual study spaces for students. We had an entirely international crew working on it during the summer of 2015! 2. A NEW LIBRARY WEBSITE! Tyndale now has its own website, complete with search options, research guides, and library information. Go to tyndale.nsa.edu to check it out! 3. JSTOR! Tyndale finally obtained access to about half a doz- en JSTOR collections, which have seen heavy use by faculty and students. We hope that by next year at the latest, alum- ni will have access to our collections as well, so stay tuned! 4. A NEW INTERN PROGRAM. This year, Tyndale launched its official intern program, which is currently training 3-6 intrepid students. They are learning the basics of bookstore and library transactions, mastering the Dewey Decimal System, and embarking on the enormous task of re-cataloging and labeling the entire upper floor of the li- brary. We hit the 300s this term! 5. We have more exciting PROGRAMS IN BETA TESTING. This term and next term, several students are trying out our brand new research workshops, in which they learn how to approach the research process and are given multiple search techniques and tools to put in their proverbial belts. Stu- dents are also given the opportunity to sign up for half-hour individual research sessions, during which the library staff works closely with them to improve their questions, search- es, sources, citations, and overall project quality. 6. MORE! In the next year or two, we plan to overhaul our reference section, adding more current and online sources, and revamp our music collection, adding new resources for the NSA Conservatory of Music. More ebooks and journal databases will be added as well. IF YOU’RE IN TOWN, come on by and take a look around! Alumni have full patron privileges, so you can f eel free to check books out, use the computers and databases, or even grab a desk and read. We’re always happy to have you, and there’s always some- thing new to see! SPRING 2017 9
