GMO Food

GMO food is a cause of concern due to their future effects , but despite all the worries , GMO food production cannot be abandoned . What are the benefits and harms of GMO food ?
GMO nutrients are obtained from plant species whose DNA is changed by methods developed by genetic engineering . By transferring DNA from one organism to another , the organism ’ s DNA is genetically modified . Then the question is why we produce GMO food ? Genetic engineering technology applications in plants are carried out in order to improve product quality , development of resistance to harmful organisms and agronomic characteristics . Currently , the United States , India , Argentina , Brazil and Canada . Most of the maize and soybean grown in the United States ( about 85 percent ) are GMOs .
It is thought that genetic engineering technology has been facilitated in recent years and that this technology can produce large quantities of food and medicine which are necessary as a result of the growing population of the world . In addition , this technology has the potential benefits of faster , growing , disease , weather and insect resistant , pesticide-resistant herbal products , as well as more delicious , safer , more productive , more nutritious , longlasting and health-beneficial plant and animal products . they will be . In addition , it is claimed that this technology has the potential benefits of faster , growing , pesticide-resistant herbal products , as well as more delicious , safer , more productive , more nutritious , long-lasting and healthbeneficial plant and animal products .
However , the short-term and long-term effects of these products , especially on human health , are not sufficiently known . It is not true to introduce nutrients for human consumption that we have not yet predicted their effects on . Moreover , if these products threaten genetic diversity , an irreversible process will be undertaken .
To sum up , for all these reasons , such products should be placed on the market after sufficient scientific research and their usage should be controlled by legal regulations before serving it to the people .
