Construction of a 200-room hotel in Abidjan , Côte d ’ Ivoire , is in the initial stages of procedure by Marriott International . Located near the central business district of Abidjan , this development will be part of a mixed-use project that will include a conference centre , offices , businesses , and a national library .
As part of its African strategy , Marriott International is targeting over 200 hotels with 37 000 rooms open or in the pipeline by 2022 , equating to around USD8.5-billion of capital investment by its real estate partners . The investment is expected to generate substantial economic activity and around 50 000 direct and indirect jobs once the hotels open . Today Marriott International hotels are present in 20 African countries : Algeria , Djibouti , Egypt , Ethiopia , Gabon , Ghana , Guinea , Kenya , Malawi , Mauritius , Morocco , Namibia , Nigeria , Rwanda , Seychelles , South Africa , Tanzania , Tunisia , Uganda , and Zambia .

Tenders have been called for construction of the 50MW De Wildt Solar Windfarm located on Portions 15 , 27 , and 28 of Farm Schietfontein 437 JQ in the North West Province . This forms part of the Window 4 of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement ( REIPPP ) programme . GPS co-ordinates 27 o 55 ’ 50.03 ” E 25 o 30 ’ 30.13 ” S .
This follows Energy Minister Jeff Radebe ’ s signing of 27 Independent Power Producer ( IPP ) projects earlier this year . The 27 new projects are expected to create 58 000 new jobs , mostly during construction . There is potential to create a further 1 500 jobs in the manufacturing sector as a direct spin-off from the projects , according to the minister . Twenty-four of the projects are either solar photovoltaic ( PV ) or onshore wind development . The wind projects include Copperton , Excelsior , Garob Wind Farm , Garob Valley , Kangnas , Oyster Bay , Perdekraal East , Roggeveld , Karusa , Nxuba , Soetwater , and Wesley-Ciskei .

Construction of a 5-star Radisson Blu hotel for a mixed-use development known as Maitama Mall is at the design phase .
The project is a landmark mixed-use project with a gross built-up area of 82 000m ² in the affluent core of Abuja , Maitama , located at the roundabout where Shesu Shugari Way and Ibrahim Babangida Way intersect . The entire project will cost USD220-million and includes retail , office , and hospitality in one building with over 10 floors . The mall is the largest component of this development . The offices will be spread out over six floors and the hotel will be a 5-star Radisson Blu hotel with 250 keys . The hotel component will cost USD80-million . It is being sponsored by the Momentum Africa Real Estate Fund and Imani & Sons , where Eris Property Group is the development partner and advisor . The entire project will be completed in two phases over a three-year period , completing in April 2019 . The design is being done by Boogertman + Partners .

ASX-listed Resolute Mining has been awarded two highly prospective large-scale exploration concessions by the Egyptian Mineral Resource Authority for the Bokari and Um Samra exploration concessions .
This came in the first round of the government ’ s international tender process for gold concessions in the Sinai and Eastern Desert . The Um Samra block is 819km ² and is situated approximately 70km north-west of Centamin ’ s Sukari Gold Mine . Collectively , the Bokari and Um Samra exploration concessions represent approximately 2 400km ² of the high-potential Arabian-Nubian Shield . Resolute will now work with the local authorities to complete the necessary procedures of the tender process , which will include negotiations with the Egyptian local authorities in formal concession agreements to finalise detailed conditions for the operation of the concessions . On conclusion of these negotiations , the operating conditions will be adopted as Egyptian law . This process is expected to take approximately six months to complete .
