A warm welcome to our second addition of The Chocolate Den E-Mag. Much has happened in the last three months. Not least was Jackie’s 50th Birthday. A really fun time was had by all Soap Barn and Chocolate Den staff when we celebrated this milestone with her. A very happy birthday to Jackie, we wish her years of health and happiness. Our good friend and customer Helen also celebrated a milestone birthday last month which gave us the opportunity to try out an idea from a new book called Naughty Cakes. Thanks Helen for the opportunity, we are looking forward to next years cake, and another great party. A new course was taught at Chocolate Den Craft College & kitchen by chef Peter. I took part in the isomalt beginners class and had the most fantastic time. Totally hooked now, I look forward to the intermediate lessons that will take place in August. If you are looking for a new craft this one comes highly recommended. Besides isomalt classes we will be holding a series of four cooking classes. Just reading what is to be taught leaves my mouth watering. We wish Mandy best of luck with her classes. She comes highly recommended and has vast experience in the field of cooking and teaching. Congratulations to all who won prizes in our first addition of the E-Mag. Once again we have a competition page with great prizes. The competition closes on 29th of August and all winners will be notified in the first week of September. It is that time of year already when we start planning the Christmas launch. This year it will take place on the 12th October, so diarise now. Adrienne Horn will be leaving at the beginning of August and we wish her the best of success in her new life. Her final cupcake class was superb when she did a black and white theme. She will be missed by all of us. A big thanks to her for her support and outstanding work at The Chocolate Den for many, many years. This coming term I will be teaching a crash course in chocolate moulding. So if you are looking for a new business venture, this extensive lesson will cover a large amount of what you need to know to get started. At The Chocolate Den we are always interested to hear about and see what our customers are making. With our next edition we will be publishing 8 of the best cake photos that you submit. Anyone getting a cake into the magazine will receive a R100 voucher from The Chocolate Den. Email all photos to [email protected] Wishing you all a good cup of hot chocolate to get you through the rest of winter. Toni
