Students who have complained that traditional-style, orderly desks induce boredom will be pleased to learn someone has been listening. As part of a several-year pilot program, the administration has swapped out the old desks for more versatile furniture in the back classrooms of the West Wing.

These new desks and tables allow for a more collaborative learning environment, as students can drag their chairs around to form small groups or spin to look at the new whiteboard covered walls. Both the new furniture and extra white board space make learning more relaxed, and everyone can write their ideas on the walls.

Desks that aren't in rows have definitely boosted the energy and

improved the collaborative environment in the back of the West Wing.

Hallelujah! Relaxed Learning in the WW Wing

Dress Code Approved: Pajama Pants!

A new style of pants has walked onto campus, Ladies and Gentlemen. Often called “Harem Pants,” “Gypsy Pants” or “Joggers,” these relaxed style pants are reminiscent of both pajama pants and the infamous MC Hammer pants.

These pants, unlike the traditional skinny jean pants that have dominated campus for the past couple years, are loose at the top and taper down around the ankles. Also unlike skinny jeans, these pants are typically made out of either a polyester blend, cotton or silk, materials that are less confining than denim.

Their popularity on campus is not due so much to their appearance on runways as it is to their comfort. Many students pair their pants with fitted shirts and long necklaces for an uber comfortable yet polished look.

According to one fan of these pants,

Jenna Shockley, “They are really comfortable, like, for the days I don’t feel like dressing up.”

The best part is they’re in dress

code! So next time you want to

wear pajama pants to school, try

a pair of harem pants.
