of the actor, but because her favorite book as a child was “Horton Sits on the Egg.”

Audiences were treated to big, catchy numbers. When asked about her favorite song in the production, Mrs. Hutteman had a hard time choosing. She finally settled with “All For You,” a “cute, funny solo sung by Gertrude Mcfuzz (played by Katherine Cherok) to Horton.”

In addition to many addictive songs, audiences also enjoyed tons of colorful, fun costumes, including Gertrude’s tail, which gradually expanded throughout the play!

Not only was there a wide diversity of talent in the large cast, but there was also an extremely skilled and hard-working crew behind the scenes. With new lighting and sound technology, “Seussical” was different from any play produced so far at PDS.

In addition to these new technical elements, the play also featured gymnastics with trampolines, ladders built into the set, and even some flying!

Mrs. Hutteman said that she was especially proud of the way that all different ages came together to create something spectacular on stage. Although coordinating a group this large was one of the biggest challenges in directing “Seussical,” Mrs. Huttman said that it was well worth the effort in order to see the magic of Dr. Seuss come to life.

Seussical!
