THE CHARBONNEAU VILLAGER 15 March 2019 Charbonneau Women’s Golf Association By LAURA CURRAN CHARBONNEAU GOLF CLUB, INC. PRESIDENT Make your own luck, follow the new rules I have been told that we should aim to make the most of our potential in life and relationships in order to create "good fortune." Achieving good results in life depends on making sure we conduct ourselves in ways that show respect and consideration for others. In the end we make our own luck. As a reminder to all interested women golfers, CWGA is an April through October Thursday play day that includes both 9-hole play and 18-hole play, at the discretion of the player. Our calendar includes both a monthly Scramble and/or Shotgun play, and luncheon. May 16 will include an optional Match Play game as well. This spring CWGA has much to share about Charbonneau's Handicap Committee policies and procedures. The USGA released golf's new rules, effective Jan. 1, 2019. The new rules are intended to increase the speed and ease of play. The CWGA Board, at its February meeting, updated our local Arts Association ■ From Page 5 Ann is an imaginative artist herself, one who began her career by taking classes at Clackamas Community College, fell in love with metal constructions and went on to help found the Local 14 Art Organization in Lake Oswego. At the 2018 Charbonneau Art Festival, you may have enjoyed her lively portrayals of women in lively colors and fanciful attire. rules to align with the new USGA. The new local rules will be included in the 2019 Roster/Handbook that will be distributed at the April breakfast and May luncheon. The rules will also be sent via email to members. The new USGA PLAYERS EDITION of the Rules of Golf Book will be available for CWGA members in the Pro Shop. Each month at our CWGA luncheons, Joann Linville will provide a presentation regarding the new changes. Joann can also be contacted with any questions; [email protected] One change worth noting is when we are in active season, all scores must be posted.
