RECRUITMENT Hear it from the experts… Permanent job market booms in 2017 The teams at Juice have seen a marked increase in permanent placements in the early months of 2017 At the beginning of 2017, Juice spoke to many employers across the South West about their recruitment plans for the forthcoming year. Organisations were keen to expand their businesses and develop their teams with employers determined to continue with their growth plans in 2017. Juice has experienced this first hand with a marked increase of 27% on permanent placements compared to the same months of 2016. Juice’s experience of the job market is supported by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) Jobs Report that signaled a further marked increase in staff placements in January despite the rate of growth easing to its slowest since September 2017. The REC’s Jobs Report highlighted that demand for staff remained considerably stronger in the private sector compared to the public sector. Furthermore, private sector permanent staff vacancies increased at the sharpest rate for a year and a half at the start of 2017.
