AEGD Puerto Rico Residents Give Grand Round Presentation
NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine AEGD Puerto Rico residents gave a Grand Round Presentation in April 2016 for residents in all post-graduate programs at the School of Dental Medicine of the University of Puerto Rico . The AEGD group ’ s topic — Advancements in Technology for Dental Treatments — provided an overview of the most recent advances in technology for use in dental offices and was an opportunity for provider on the island to gain CME credits .

PEDS Residents Share Knowledge with Dental Students in Jamaica

A team of NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Pediatric Dentistry resident volunteers participated as visiting lecturers at the University of the West Indies ( UWI ) - Mona Campus in Kingston , Jamaica in March 2016 . The team consisted of Drs . Karen Bartley ( PEDS / Nashville , TN ), Stella Chukwu ( PEDS / Holyoke , MA ), Laura Moon ( PERIO / NY-Metro ), and Erin Saucier ( PEDS / Tampa , FL ). The team members created lecture presentations , developed examination questions , and led literature review sessions for small work-groups of 13 UWI dental students ( class 2017 ), who will be the third graduating class . NYU Lutheran residents were supported faculty members Dr . T . K . Tibby ( PEDS / Tampa , FL ) and Dr . David Okuji ( PEDS- Senior Associate Director ). It is also of note that team members had sightings of two famous Jamaicans : Grammy award-winning reggae singer Beenie Man and world record-hold sprinter Usain Bolt !
