Arizona AEGD Resident Presents Poster at Mobile Health Clinics Forum
Dr . Marcela Quintero , PGY-2 AEGD resident at Winslow Indian Health Care Center in Arizona , presented a poster on a local study evaluating the efficacy of Winslow Indian Health Care Center ' s follow-up treatment in its Mobile Dental Program at the Annual Forum Mobile Health Clinics Association , held in September 2016 in Memphis , TN . Dr . Quintero was supervised by Dr . Darrin Blackman , AEGD Associate Director- Arizona .
DPH Residents Present Posters at NOHC Conference
NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Dental Public Health ( DPH ) residents Drs . Sahira Khalid and Rachel King were selected to make poster presentations for the National Oral Health Conference ( NOHC ) in Cincinnati , OH , in April 2016 . The NOHC is the largest meeting of dental public health professionals in the U . S . and is sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors . " Betel Nut Use Among Pregnant Women : Development of a Questionnaire " was the topic of Dr . Khalid ( DPH-Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic in Yakima , WA ), while Dr . King ( DPH-St Joseph ' s Health Services , Providence , RI ) focused on " Rhode Island Pregnant Women ’ s Receipt of Oral Health Care and Reported Barriers : 2012-2013 Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System ( PRAMS )."

••• Periodontics Residents Present Poster at Osseointegration Meeting
NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine PGY-2 Periodontics residents Drs . Kara Slavik and Mike Roig collaborated on a poster they presented in March 2016 at the Academy of Osseointegration Annual Meeting in San Diego , CA . Their research focused on an enhanced approach to immediate implant placement using just the molar to be extracted .
