Dr . Jonathan Fu Assumes Presidency of the Honolulu County Dental Society
Congratulations to Dr . Jonathan Fu , a NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine AEGD 2011 alumnus who trained at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center in Hawaii , who is now serving as President of the Honolulu County Dental Society ( HCDS ) for 2016 . Dr . Fu , also a 2013 graduate of the Endodontics program at University of Texas at San Antonio , is the third NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Hawaii AEGD graduate to serve in this capacity . The others are : Dr . Joe Chu , AEGD Metro , NY , 2004 , KKV , HI 2005 and NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Endodontic Brooklyn graduate 2008 , HCDS President 2013 , and Dr . Farid Shaikh , University of Pennsylvania 2008 , AEGD KKV HI , 2009 , Endodontic residency at Einstein Medical Center , Philadelphia , 2011 , HCDS President 2014 .

Congratulations to Dr . Marla Coleman for being unanimously selected as Faculty Member of the year by the AEGD NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine residents at Grady Health System in Atlanta , GA .
••• PEDS Alumna Receives James R . Roche Award of Excellence
Congratulations to Dr . Anna Abrahamian Ross , a 2015 graduate of the NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Pediatric Dentistry Program ( St . Joseph Health Services of Rhode Island ), who received the James R . Roche Award of Excellence in Spring 2016 . This award is given to the candidate who achieves the highest score on the qualifying examination of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry ( AAPD ). Dr . Ross scored the highest grade nationally on this exam , which is given to all graduating residents in the country and other pediatric dentists wishing to attain board certification in pediatric dentistry . Dr . Ross was presented with a plaque and a $ 1,000 honorarium at the AAPD Annual Breakfast meeting of the College of Diplomates in May 2016 in San Antonio , TX .

Endodontics residency at the University of Texas , San Antonio . ••• Dr . K . David Stillwell Elected to AGD Board
Congratulations to Dr . K . David Stillwell , NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine Senior AEGD Associate Director-Southeast Zone , who was elected to serve a 3-year term on the Academy of General Dentistry ( AGD ) Board of Trustees and will represent members in Arkansas , Kansas , Oklahoma , Louisiana , and Mississippi . The 19-member governing body dictates the organization ’ s policy and votes on issues that affect the dental community , as well as the AGD ’ s 39,000 members in the United States , its territories , and Canada . Dr . Stillwell was also appointed to the AGD ’ s National Oral Health / Medical Delivery Task Force serving through July 2016 .

Fern is president and CEO of the National Children ’ s Oral Health Foundation and has been a staunch supporter of both of NYU Lutheran Dental Medicine . •••
