Honeymoon

We went to Cape Town, South Africa and went on a safari. I had wanted to go on safari since I was a little girl so it was a dream come true to share this with Gary. We stayed in the most amazing safari in the eastern cape called Amakhala Game Reserve. We had our own luxury tent which is essentially a luxury hut in the grounds and you wake up in the mornings to monkeys jumping in trees and zebras, giraffes and elephants drinking water in front of you. We were treated like royalty for 4 days and I will always remember being in such an incredible place with the most incredible man!

Looking back on our Big Day

The last two years have been the busiest of my life. We met in November 2012, relocated from Donegal to Dublin and moved in together in August 2013, got Conor settled in a new school in September, got engaged in October, built a house and moved in December 2013, got married in February 2014, and Gary finished his Master's degree in June with his graduation in October.

Getting married was the most important thing but even with everything on our plate, my only advice for brides is don’t sweat the small stuff.

Weddings are not that difficult to organise, you just need to work out what’s important to you and focus on those things.

Myself and Gary agreed the key things together and then he let me finalise everything else, trusting my judgement. What he probably didn’t realise is that the little things didn’t matter to me either.

I just wanted to marry the best man I have ever known and I would have done it in the back garden. Although I have to say the Village was much nicer!
