Tell us all about your decision to open your own Bridal business:

I decided to open Edith & Winston Bridalwear just over two years ago. Up until that point I had been happy working in couture bridalwear and embroidery design in both England and Australia. My favourite part of the day was sitting down with a needle and thread to hand embellish the beautiful gowns.

When I got engaged all my opinions changed!

I had a dress in my mind when I began looking in Australia,. As a size 14/16 often I would come across a beautiful dress that just wouldn't pass my legs. I knew I wanted a fishtail but no where supplied them big enough to try on. After the third A-line design was forced upon me (being the biggest on offer) I decided to ask for help from my mum to create my wedding dress. This is when the idea formed and we begin the process to set up Edith & Winston Bridalwear. We specialise in sizes 14+ and chose some amazing designers who produced the most stunning samples.

Though all our dresses in the show room start at a 14, they can all be purchased from size 6+ and we hope that every bride can feel comfortable to come in and have a look at our collection. We are a family run little boutique made up of myself and my wonderful mum Janet. We know how it feels to be disheartened and we hope that we can offer you the most exciting experience when you visit us.

My favourite part of my job so far has been designing the window and enticing the brides!
