The Proposal
I met my now husband in a bar in Chapel Allerton in Leeds in September 2007.
I was totally not expecting the proposal! Unbeknownst to me, Maggs planned to do it on our last night on holiday in Portugal in April 2013. We had our daughter, Edith, with us and I was pregnant with our second daughter, Florence.
He apparently intended to ask me on the beach with Edith there and then we could have gone for a glass of champagne. Unfortunately I suffered with migraines when I was pregnant and ended up in bed with a migraine on the last night of the holiday, so that went out the window!
He very quickly asked me the next morning outside our villa with a lawn mower in the background! Still lovely though and memorable.
We booked the wedding venue straight away and were very lucky to get a cancellation for Friday 29th August 2014.
As luck would have it I phoned up from work in June 2013 and another bride had cancelled that morning as there were no registrars available in Leeds that day. As we were having a church wedding this wasn't an issue for us.
It was obviously meant to be!
