Be a good bridesmaid!

Know your place!!

Bear in mind that this is not your wedding day. You may have fantastic ideas planned for your own fantasy wedding, but does the bride feel the same about the styles you like? She might appreciate input but make sure you are being supportive of her vision.

Perhaps you have been asked as a new addition to her family- if you are bridesmaid at a future sister-in-law's wedding, please remember that the happy couple have chosen to include you, and you cannot control all aspects of their wedding. If they have your blessing, they should have your full support!

If the bride chooses something you would never dream of wearing, try to appreciate her choice. Perhaps she needs a little guidance, but if it is simply a case of different tastes you should remember why you were asked to be a bridesmaid- and why you happily accepted. Surely you have somethings in common or you admire her ability to make her own style choices? Think of how you'd feel if the roles were reversed.

If your friendship means something, then it won't hurt to wear a dress for only one day.

Don't forget, you're representing the bride, so be sure to be mannerly and respectful! On the day, try to keep any personal matters personal, and watch your alcohol intake!
