Eilis & Stephen

Our Story

My husband Stephen and I are from the same village so we went to the same school and knew each other growing up.

We have one son, Dean, who is now six years old, and the three of us were at home together when we got engaged on the August bank holiday 2012. On our wedding day, May 2nd 2014, it was also our 9 year anniversary since we started going out .

We planned the whole wedding ourselves, we had a good bit of time so we were under no pressure.

The venue was the most important thing to me. I wanted a fairytale castle wedding and after a lot of searching Lough Rynn Hotel was just perfect, so I had to have it! The staff at the hotel were brilliant, the quality of food and service on the day was outstanding. It ran so smoothly.

I think I was pretty laid back with everything else.

I chose my dress in Dinagh Modes bridal boutique in Castlerea. My aunt Joan made the cake and designed a fabulous dessert table for us. I just gave her the colours of the bridesmaid dresses and left the rest to her.

The same with the florist, Kat's Flowers, I left it all in her capable hands. I think being a hairdresser in the wedding industry, you know who to go to for all your needs. From working with brides in the past, you hear the same names being recommended.
